SCEC's April Green Drinks

With Cyclone Alfred in the mix at the time of our March Green Drinks, we're back on Thursday 10 April from 5pm at Small Change Espresso for another great networking event and program featuring two guest speakers!

Join us for a great Green Drinks featuring our guest speakers Haans Siver, Director of the Captain Paul Watson Foundation Australia and Brylee Robinson, a local marine conservationist and Nets Out Now advocate.

Haans Siver - Director of the Captain Paul Watson Foundation Australia

Haans Siver is the Director of the Captain Paul Watson Foundation. Haans formerly worked for Sea Shepherd which was pioneered by Paul Watson.

She began her first Antarctic campaign in 2013 on the ‘Steve Irwin’ as a quartermaster on Operation Relentless and was featured in a TV show about the Whale Wars. She later moved up the ranks to Ship Manager and Chief officer.

Her maritime experience spans 12 years and 12 campaigns, sailing all over the world in the fight to help save our oceans and our precious marine life.

Her presentation will focus on the issue of rubbish in our oceans and will feature the CPWF campaign on ocean clean up. Haans has many stories to tell and hopes to inspire others both young and old to follow their dreams and save our planet.

Brylee Robinson - marine conservationist

Brylee has been advocating for the removal of shark nets and drumlines since 2023.

She speaks at local schools and at public events about the impact of shark nets and drumlines on our marine animals.

Last year, she organised a peaceful protest, where over 250 people stood together on Mooloolaba beach and called for these lethal and non-effective devices to be removed from our beach.

Brylee also works as a volunteer for animal rescue.

Catch up on the latest in nature, climate and sustainability and more!

We’re looking forward to seeing you at Small Change Espresso where there’ll be meals from a delicious new menu on offer, a great atmosphere and of course inspiring presentations, information and conversations!
